Trees are very important for us. They provide us with shade, fruit, gum, and medications. Some trees' leaves are utilized as animal feed.
Oaks, plane trees, willows, birches, beeches, maples, ashes, lindens, and elms are examples of shade trees that absorb radiant heat from the sun and lower the ambient temperature by evaporative cooling. Why is it important to have shade from a tree on hot days? The Department of Energy claims that it can actually lower the temperature of the air around you by up to 6 degrees Fahrenheit. Trees cause coolness in the air. This helps in causing rain.

Trees are also helpful in preventing soil erosion.  They keep the soil in place and shield it from the wind and water, which stops soil erosion. The soil is stabilized and held in place by the roots of trees and other plants. Moreover, plants protects soil from wind erosion and decreases the impact of precipitation when it hits the ground.

Additionally, trees help in reducing floods. The place where there is a dense growth of trees and plants controls the rushing water of rivers and rivulets, particularly in mountainous areas. As a result, nearby villages and towns are not affected from severe flash floods.
