CAFÉ KALAYU in Sariaya, Quezon
A new restaurant in Sariaya, Quezon has just opened this year, 2023, and is fast making a buzz around the city. The name is CAFÉ KALAYU.
It is no ordinary restaurant. First, it is nested at the top of the mountain with a majestic view of MOUNT BANAHAW. Not only the beautiful mountain is the attraction of this venue, but more so its unique asymmetric structure design, made mainly out of wood and concrete floors. A plus factor is the cool breezy weather like that of the climate in Tagaytay.
Their menu is also something to look forward to. I know for a fact that they are always adding new items to their food choices.
We were fortunate enough to get a chance to dine in CAFÉ KALAYU during their soft-opening period last March of 2023. Since they were newly opened, they offered free cups of freshly brewed coffees to each guest.
This place easily became a favorite place for hang-out or family celebrations. The place is very cozy and homey, not to mention the amazing view.
I hope to return to this place soon and check out what other upgrades they have done. I read from their Facebook account that they now offer “eat-all-you-can” on certain dishes.
I’m a coffee-lover and I have to say their coffee was excellent.
For the cuisine, I loved that they added some twists and gave their own version of some famous traditional dishes. My favorites dishes are the rosemary fries, Tinapa pasta, crispy chicken burger, and quezondillas.
We really liked CAFÉ KALAYU that we returned 3 days after our initial visit to enjoy the view and the food once again. On our second time, we ordered bulalo steak, Tinapa pasta (again), and Banahaw Secret for dessert. We asked first what this (Banahaw Secret) dish was made of, but they said that it was a surprise. So, we delightfully anticipated. Luckily, we were not disappointed. I wish I could divulge what it is. Please order it to find out for yourselves.
You will surely enjoy your dining experience here at CAFÉ KALAYU. The trip going there will be so much worth it.
Allow me to share some photos I have taken during the two times I was here.
Hope this article helped. Thanks, and until my next food adventure.
