TASTY CHICKEN PASTIL RECIPE

EASY TO COOK AND VERY TRENDING CHICKEN PASTIL RECIPE

Sometimes you just get tired of cooking the same chicken recipe, like Adobo, Afritada or Chicken curry. Plus, kids prefer to eat only fried chicken. And the least favorite part of the chicken is the breast part.

If you’re a mother, or if you’re the one in charge of daily meals of the family, here’s one trending chicken recipe that you might want to try. It is called CHICKEN PASTIL. Also known as CHICKEN FLAKES. Your kids will like it.

It is basically chicken breast boiled, shredded, and then cooked in oil with some seasonings.

If you’re interested, here’s my version of the very trending CHICKEN PASTIL.

CHICKEN PASTIL

INGREDIENTS FOR FIRST PROCEDURE (boiling the chicken breast)

CHICKEN BREAST – 300 to 400 grams

LAUREL LEAVES (DRIED BAY LEAVES) – 2 to 3 pcs.

CRACKED BLACK PEPPER – 1 Tbsp.

FRESH GINGER – 3 to 4 thick slices.

ROCK SALT – 1 Tbsp.

PROCEDURE:

On a stove, heat 500ml of water in a deep pan and put all the aromatics and seasonings (bay leaves, cracked black pepper, fresh ginger and rock salt) once it is boiling, you can put the chicken breast and boil it in medium heat for 15 minutes. Take out cooked chicken breast and let it cool for 20 minutes, until it is cool enough to be shredded by hand.

----------

INGREDIENTS FOR FINAL PROCEDURE (Sauteing of the chicken flakes)

SHREDDED CHICKEN (from above)

COOKING OIL – 1 cup.

GARLIC – 1 whole. (minced)

RED ONION – 2 pcs. (Medium size)

CHICKEN BROTH (from the 1st procedure) – 1 half cup.

VINEGAR – 1 Tbsp.

OYSTER SAUCE – 2 Tbsp.

SOY SAUCE – 2 Tbsp.

NROWN SUGAR – 1 Tbsp.

RED CHILI – 2 pcs. (Sliced thinly)

PROCEDURE:

Heat 1 cup of cooking oil in a pan. Sauté the garlic and onion for 2 – 3 minutes in medium heat. Then put in the Shredded CHICKEN BREAST, stir for 2 minutes until all meats are covered in oil. Pour in the chicken broth and the white vinegar. Simmer for 5 minutes then add the SOY SAUCE and OYSTER SAUSE and BROWN SUGAR. Stir for another 5 minutes and it is done. When serving, just take chicken meat and drain the excess oil. Top with sliced chilis.

HAPPY EATING. DON’T FORGET TO SERVE WITH STEAMING HOT RICE.
